Customers, who have their eye on Xperia M2 for the first time, will be shocked at its striking resemblance to Xperia Z2. The identical design features are flat rear and round edges. Although the designs are similar, M2 would be more convenient in terms of handling, since it is smaller and lighter than Xperia Z2. It is interesting to learn that there is a lighter version of Xperia Z2 called M2, especially since the M2 resembles Z2 to the core, and both are strikingly attractive products.

Sony has tailored Xperia M2 with a rubber frame and not a posh aluminum chassis. The rubber frame enables greater grip, and there are minimal chances of the phone slipping. The thickness dimension of the phone is 8.6mm, and the measurement is quite decent to just browse through the features of the phone. The measurement is not on the extreme small and large, and offers a feel good effect, because it looks attractive, and more so than Xperia M. The lack of waterproof feature does come as bad news for many, but Sony is a highly acclaimed mobile brand, has introduced something significant. It lies in open USB Micro port which makes the charging process more flexible than ever before.

On the bottom of Xperia M2 there is a speaker grille, sources have not yet tested the acoustic power of the devise. Since it is the Xperia series product of Sony the sound clarity has to be excellent to go in sync with the amazing design. The color choices are vibrant as well, and anyone would want to own the purple, white and black Xperia M2. Xperia phones are known to have the best display resolution, Xperia M2 has a display measurement of 4.8 inch and its resolution power is 960×540 pixel, and the pixel density is 229ppi. Xperia M2 is not a high end piece in terms of display, but sources found the display output to be impressive but not extraordinary, because it has to be good since it is an Xperia product of Sony. The color output was spectacular and viewing angles magnificent, but not on par with Z2. The display capacity, color resolution and viewing angle of Xperia M2 is good to enjoy a fun filled evening and watch the latest movies.

Camera:

The camera output in Xperia M2 is 8 megapixel, and certainly not as competitive as Xperia Z1 with 20.7 megapixel camera.

Software:

Xperia M2 is tailored with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and not the advanced Android 4.4 KitKat software. Sony has not injected the M2 with high-end software, and according to company officials, the initiative was to improvise on the handset to matches up to the potential of top end software. Sources have found the operations to be pretty smooth, and the software processor used is 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, and is reliable for efficient operation. The memory capacity is 1GB RAM and the interior storage capacity is 8GB, supported via micro SD card expansion. The battery output is 2330mAh which is sufficient to speak hours on end.

Verdict:

Sony Xperia M2 like other Xperia series looks classy and sophisticated; the handling process is smooth because of the light weight. The display is impressive as well. Sony has introduced a breakthrough feature in the Xperia Z and other series of its class, which is the waterproof ability. This feature is absent in Xperia M2. The company has compensated for the lack of this feature with the open USB micro port, which enhances the charge capacity of the phone.

The software processes in Xperia M2 are not high –end in sync with the grand brand image of Xperia series. Sony has decided to use the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean processor and not the state-of-the art Android 4.4 KitKat software feature. The initial download and movement of apps is pretty smooth and the 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 makes the phone an efficient product for everyday usage.

Despite the flaws the display power, color resolution and viewing angle of Xperia M2 is admirable. Sony has not been too generous with the phone in terms of inserting a basic not high-end software processor, average 8 megapixel camera and lack of water proof features. The phone is on top of the game with regard to color resolution and viewing angle and also efficiency and battery capacity of 233mAh.

Sony Xperia M2 is reliable, its slender rubber stature enables firm grip, and is among the best phones with respect to display resolution, viewing angle and color quality that costs Rs 20,000.

Customers would have wanted the water proof feature in Xperia M2; Sony has built the phone to target the lower strata of Indian society. The mobile industry has undergone a massive revolution in India, with the launch of low and mid-budget phones.

Dynamic phones like Sony Xperia M2 will aid in greater business movement and is an ideal gift for the middle income population who can enjoy high-end features in a mid-budget phone. Xperia M2 is indeed among the best color resolution phones in the market, and is a value for money product.
